While courting Julia, Paul learns about a disease called ''bunch rot,'' and by opening the sprinklers in the night, seeks to make sure Chase will be ruined and forced to leave. When Paul demands his reward, Angela angrily accuses him of endangering all of the vineyards, throws him out and calls Chase. After Paul is exposed, Julia helps Chase and Maggie in preserving the vineyard.
