Madeline, with Gussie out of the way, falls for Bertie, who steals the statue but has to return it when the owner (Major Plank) will not buy it back. Bertie then blacks up to pretend to be an African wanting to get the statue back for his tribe, just as the real Africans turn up. Jeeves can sort things out though, for a price.
