The public usually turn up in hordes, and experts offer advice as to the age, origin, and value of the antiques. Selected antiques which the owners are willing to sell are taken to a public auction, where the expert's valuations are put to the test in the presence of the owner, presenter and expert!
In contrast to 'Antiques Roadshow', where the emphasis is on high quality antiques frequently running into thousands of pounds, values on Flog It! are comparatively modest, typically running 50-500 pounds, although the occasional item does reach levels at which a shocked owner appears in need of medical attention.
This episode of Flog It! comes from historic Grimsby Minster in north east Lincolnshire. Antiques experts Anita Manning and Michael Baggott find a selection of antiques and collectibles to take to auction. Anita is drawn to a ship's wheel and Michael discovers a silver claret jug dating back to 1870. Paul walks in the footsteps of kings as he explores the walls of Lincoln Castle.
