As Meadows and the team capture Starr following a stake-out on the Larkmead estate, McAllister and reporter Andrea Roper are taken hostage by Merrick and Matty Fletcher after investigating the contents of Merrick's basement. As the situation intensifies, Merrick shoots Fletcher when he tries to leave the building, and is himself shot dead by SO19. Meadows and McAllister are congratulated by Chandler for their handling of the situation.
