Also, the entourage is watched by neighbouring rancher Lee Calder (Jo Van Fleet) and her foreman Jim Dawson (Jeremy Slate), the former of whom comments that she has not seen John Grainger in 25 years. At Shiloh John discusses with the Virginian whether or not the Shiloh foreman will stay on and he tells the Virginian that his son was killed in an Indian raid ten years before.
