Meanwhile, Merlin's practicing his magic in the cave again when he hears a voice in the rocks. He unwittingly frees a very angry dragon lord, who's convinced that Rowan-Webb stoled his treasure and sets off for the house with Merlin in tow.
The rest of the students are grudgingly reading a balad about the very same dragon lord, when Drusilla asks to be excused. Seeing her oportunity, Maud follows her and corners her demanding to know where Mildred is.
