Gabriel goes to find Hardy's rifle, but Smithy finds it before him, and it appears to be only a matter of time before the culprit is finally caught. However as the building is cleared, Gabriel rushes to Hardy's address, threatening that no one would care if he was shot. As Gabriel grabs a nearby pistol, a struggle ensues and the gun goes off. As SO19 rush to the apartment, Gabriel forces Hardy over the balcony railing but he holds on for dear life as PC Steve Hunter looks on from the ground level, but Gabriel 'drops' Hardy and he falls to his death.
